Katch-McArdle Formula for BMR

The Katch-McArdle Formula is used to calculate BMR because it takes into account the Lean Body Mass, wheras other popular methods only incorporate age, sex, height, and weight.

BMR (kCal) =370 +(21.6 * LBM)
